Job Description

Enfield is a magnet for businesses and developers. It has all the advantages of an outer London borough: good infrastructure, green spaces, low crime levels as well as excellent education  provision– and it forms part of the second largest employment corridor in London. With these significant growth prospects, Enfield Council is also tackling the demand for good quality family housing in the borough and is working to provide sustainable, mixed tenure housing across Enfield. 

To further our ambitious agenda, we wish to recruit to this significant role, which will help to make Enfield a great place to live, work and play.

You will provide both strategic and operational leadership. We will look to  you to enable economic growth, delivering key corporate priorities such as town centre improvements, commercial developments and housing and industrial development through a revised Local Plan that you will implement. These challenges and opportunities will be met by following an ethos that promotes and encourages high quality, sustainable design and placemaking whilst also, respecting conservation and heritage. 

This role would be a step up for you, an opportunity to take your career to the next level. We would expect you to enhance customer experience across the service and direct the fee-generating and commercialisation opportunities of the Planning Service.
