Enfield is increasingly one of the most diverse areas of London, with all the benefits this brings us across our communities, culture, heritage and local economy. We are seeking a maingrade EP to join our friendly, dynamic and highly-regarded Educational Psychology Service. We have a strong focus on emotional health and wellbeing, developing trauma informed and culturally responsive practice. The EPS takes a lead across several areas across the partnership including trauma informed practice, EBSNA, autism and neurodiversity.
We have a history of multi-agency working, and all of our EPs have opportunities to work within projects and partner services, and develop specialist interests. All EPs have a patch of schools with strong relationships and partnership working.
You will benefit from a supportive senior leadership team, supporting team belonging, wellbeing and work/life balance. There is a service-wide CPD programme providing ongoing training where we can grow and reflect together. Peer and group supervision sessions take place alongside individual supervision.
We have strong links with the doctoral training courses and are committed to supporting our Trainee Educational Psychologists on placement, and through roles as university tutors.
We are supported by a friendly, efficient and dedicated business support team and are based in Enfield Town with free car parking. The EPS is co-located with other Education teams, supporting collaborative working.

Here is what it’s like to work in Enfield EPS:
I have worked within the Enfield EPS for the past 8 years and have thoroughly enjoyed the diversity within the borough. The team and leadership have always been supportive and the work has been broad and interesting. I feel valued within the service and the service continuously strives to focus on meaningful developments including trauma informed practice, dynamic assessment and using the Autism Education Trust Framework. I also supervise trainee EPs during their placement in Enfield and they always comment on the interesting work Enfield offers as well as their enjoyment of working in a diverse range of educational settings. Stephanie Barclay (EP)
“I am a newly qualified EP and have been with Enfield EPS since my second year of training on the EP doctorate programme. Enfield EPS has a real passion for putting psychology at the heart of practice, with great investments in the service’s professional development, such as regular supervision for Dynamic Assessment, and frequent training on trauma informed practice. I am proud to be part of culture that values culturally responsive practice and adopts a reflective lens when meeting the needs of our diverse population in Enfield. The team are highly supportive and friendly, and as a service we have regular managerial and peer supervision. Enfield EPS also has many commissioned projects for EPs, working in partnership with other services. I am currently part of the Virtual School for LAC, CiN/CP and I am also co-leading the MeLSA intervention training with schools in the local area. This has allowed me to develop my interests and professional skillset. I’ve had the opportunity to develop my thesis research findings into a local offer for parents and schools” Dr Becky Mulhall (EP)
“Having recently relocated from South Africa for this role, it's been great to experience the support of colleagues genuinely invested in your growth and development. Coupled with regular supervision from your manager, their attentive guidance ensures your competence in your new role. The work itself is also diverse and interesting, making Enfield an ideal place for professional growth and expanding your expertise.” Arno Basson (Senior EP)
